Kansas City Royals - 1985 World Series Champs

In the 1985 regular season the Royals topped the Western Division for the sixth time in ten years, led by Bret Saberhagen's Cy Young Award-winning performance. Throughout the ensuing playoffs, the Royals repeatedly put themselves into difficult positions, but improbably managed to escape each time. With the Royals down 3-games-to-one in the ALCS against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Royals eventually rallied to win the series 4-3. Kansas City won the World Series against cross-state rival St. Louis in 1985, the so-called "I-70 Series". After coming back from deficits of 2-0 and 3-1. Series MVP Bret Saberhagen tossed a five-hit shutout as the Royals bombed St. Louis, 11-0 in the seventh and deciding game to clinch the franchise's first World Series title.

Boston Red Sox - 2007 World Series Champs

The Red Sox became the first team to clinch a playoff spot for the 2007 season on September 22. They finished the regular season with a 96-66 record and captured their first AL East title since 1995. The Red Sox swept the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the ALDS and defeated the Cleveland Indians in the ALCS after trailing three games to one, taking the final three contests by a combined score of 30–5. In the 2007 World Series, the Red Sox faced the Colorado Rockies. Combining strong pitching and clutch hitting, Boston capped a four-game sweep of the Rockies in the 103rd Fall Classic and stand alone atop the baseball world for the second time in four seasons and for the seventh time in club history.

St. Louis Cardinals - 2006 World Series Champs

The Cardinals entered the postseason with an 83-78 record, the third-worst ever for a playoff team, and were given little chance to advance. However, they beat the San Diego Padres in the first round and moved on to face the New York Mets. Heavy underdogs, the Cardinals went on to beat the Mets in seven thrilling games, winning the series on a two-run homer by Yadier Molina in the ninth inning of Game 7. The Cardinals entered the 2006 World Series again as underdogs, this time to the Detroit Tigers. However, things would turn out very differently. Scott Rolen hit .421 for the Series; David Eckstein hit .364 and won the MVP. The Cardinals compiled a team 2.05 ERA for the Series. On October 27, 2006, the Cardinals won their tenth World Championship, defeating the Tigers 4-1 and winning the Series in five games. The Cardinals were the first team since the 1923 New York Yankees to win a World Series in their first season in a new park. They also joined the Yankees as the only Major League teams with double digit World Championships. Surely, it will go down as one of the best and worst seasons in St. Louis Cardinals history with the team with the fewest wins ever to win a World Series title.

Chicago White Sox - 2005 World Series Champs

The White Sox championship run can be considered one for the ages. Apart from a brief shaky stretch in early September, the White Sox team displayed sheer dominance as evident by the wire-to-wire first place in American League. Only the 1927 Yankees were able to achieve such a feat. Their 11-1 postseason record was tied with 1999 Yankees as the best single post season mark. The White Sox also became the only team to win all three post-season victories on the road. Amazingly, despite their 105 year history, this was only the franchise's third World Series championship, (following victories in 1917 and 1906). It also marked their first pennant since the advent of divisional play in 1969 (the White Sox won the inaugural American League pennant in 1901, but this was 2 years prior to the first modern World Series).

Boston Red Sox - 2004 World Series Champs

Finally, after an 86 year drought since their last title in 1918, the Red Sox broke the legendary "Curse of the Bambino". Boston began the playoffs by sweeping the AL West champion Anaheim Angels. Next they faced their nemesis from the Bronx and found themselves at the brink of elimination down by 3 games. As improbable as a comeback might seem, the Sox achieved this incredible feat and came back to win the seven game series and break the curse. Next the Sox faced the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. The momentum and confidence Boston had built up in the ALCS would overwhelm St. Louis as they won the series 4-0 to gain their 6th Championship Title.
